Advisement & Counseling

The mission of the Advisement and Counseling Center is to offer comprehensive support services that help students obtain their educational, career and life goals, and facilitate their growth and development. Academic advisors are available to assist students with academic planning as well as researching career and transfer opportunities. Academic advisors welcome the opportunity to discuss with students any topics that may contribute to a more satisfying college experience.

Students can schedule an appointment with an academic advisor Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to stop by our office for walk-ins Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. On the Brockton Campus, we are located on the lower level of the Student Center.

What can online advising help you with?

  • Provide you with program or degree requirements and help you to pick the courses that help meet those requirements via DegreeWorks
  • Provide information about registration and scheduling
  • Develop an academic plan utilizing PLANS
  • Assist you with information/academic career counseling regarding program changes, and questions about which major best suits you.
  • Provide information about other college resources, policies and procedures
  • Assist you with questions and provide information regarding transferring and scholarships

What can’t online advising help you with?

  • Provide personal counseling
  • Take a message for you, such as “I will not be in class today”
  • Send information about your personal records or any other student’s personal record
  • Provide financial aid counseling
