Diversity & Inclusion
Diversity is an embedded part of Massasoit Community College’s Mission, Values and Goals. We are rich in diversity — gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, and more. The mission of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is to build and support a culturally competent community where all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are welcomed, respected, and valued.
Our goal is to fulfill this mission through:
- Diversity programming that celebrate diverse cultures, viewpoints, and identities;
- Compliance and investigations that address and remedy instances of illegal discrimination and Title IX incidents;
- Educational programming that facilitates and supports difficult conversations about challenging subjects including implicit and explicit bias, equity, and justice; and
- Enhanced recruiting and retention efforts of under-represented faculty and staff, specifically faculty and staff of color.
If you ever have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us in person or by phone or email. Thank you for doing your part to help make Massasoit a great place to learn and work!File an Affirmative Action Complaint
“To be a true diversity leader, you must be committed to “change.” Change involves having critical discussions whether it is about race, disability, gender identity, or any of the other important topics that encompass diversity and inclusion. Change involves a plan of action and a commitment to fulfill what we all can do to facilitate the change. Success is when the change makes a difference in all facets of the College – increased student of color retention and graduation rates, increased faculty of color in our classrooms and continued efforts in improving hiring procedures. I’m ready for change, are you?”
