Part III takes an in-depth look at indirect and direct compensation with emphasis on job evaluation, job pricing, labor markets, and compensation surveys. In addition, the course will focus on mandated legally required benefits and health care legislation such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). The course will end with a review of a safe and healthy work environment.

Beginning with a review of the evolution of the labor and union movement, Part IV takes an in-depth look at employee and labor relations environments. The course addresses concerns and issues related to unionization and collective bargaining and will outline the grievance process. In addition, internal employee relations will be discussed including approaches to disciplinary action, termination, downsizing, promotions and transfers. The course will end with an introduction to Global HR Management.
