A growing number of employers are utilizing college internships as a means to temporarily add skilled workers to their staff while identifying prospective employees for the future.  According to a 2019 study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), employers converted 56.1% of interns into full-time employees and experienced a 71.4% one-year retention rate with those new hires.  Successful internship programs offer students valuable experiential learning opportunities while greatly benefiting an organization’s capacity and performance.

Massasoit Community College strongly recommends that interns be compensated in accordance with Department of Labor standards.
