About Our Program
According to 237 CMR 13.05, license holders must complete 15 hours of Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) every 3 years in order to renew their license.
15-Hour MCE C & D License Renewal
Every C & D License expires on July 31, 2022. You must complete a 15-hour MCE course before July 31, 2022 in order to hold a valid license after that date. The State Board of Examiners of Electricians requires attendees to bring a 2014 National Electrical Code. This book can be purchased through NFPA 1-800-344-3555, www.nfpa.org or MECA 781-320-9811, www.mecanews.com.
Upon completion of this 15 hour course and the six hour professional development workshop, your requirements will be complete.
Fire Alarm Basics
This course is designed to meet the State Electrician Board requirement for an additional six-hour Professional Development Workshop and is appropriate for A, B, C, and D license-holders. The course will provide the basic information needed for alarm technicians and electricians to install fire systems correctly. Wiring methods, codes and layout will be covered. NFPA72 Code Book suggested.
Certificate of completion
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded a certificate of completion from the college.
