Living Grief: A Mother/s Odyssey of Surrender, Renewal, and Mad Joy
April 5, 2021 from 4:30 pm–5:30 pm
Massasoit’s own Professor Angelina Avedano discusses her book Living Grief: A Mother/s Odyssey of Surrender, Renewal, and Mad Joy and the process of writing, grieving, and finding joy in a reimagined identity.
Using myths and stories, Professor Avedano’s book explores the depths of grief as she grapples with her son’s schizoaffective disorder. This very personal account illustrates her lessons in letting go of dreams for her son’s future, the relationship she thought they would have, and her identity as a mother.
Living Grief demonstrates how loss – no matter how great or small – becomes a catalyst for transformation.
Monday April 5 | 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
