The Java Programming Certificate is designed to provide an opportunity for students not enrolled in a degree program to acquire evidence of confirmation of Java programming language skills.
Students graduating with this certificate will be able to construct programs with the object-oriented language Java; build on the constructs of sequence, selection, and repetition to develop programs using objects, methods, data abstraction, inheritance, and polymorphism; and enhance his/her critical thinking skills by analyzing, understanding, and developing solutions to a wide range of problems.
- To provide evidence of the student’s competence to program in the Java programming language; this proof will be demonstrated as the student works toward his/her associate degree
- To provide an opportunity for students not enrolled in a degree program to acquire evidence of confirmation of Java programming language skills
