Thank you for your interest in Massasoit Community College’s Gateway to College program. Gateway to College is a unique alternative education opportunity that empowers youth who are not on track to graduate to earn a diploma and dual credit in a supportive college environment. The program began serving students at Massasoit Community College in 2007.

The typical profile of a Gateway to College student is one who has dropped out or is behind in credits to graduate with their designated class. Many of our students left high school with a GPA of 2.0 or less. Also, promising students who drop out or fell behind because of unfortunate circumstances do well at Gateway. Students in the program are dually enrolled in their school district and at Massasoit Community College, and take classes at the college through the Gateway to College program.

Student support specialists and a caring team of instructors work closely with students, teaching them how to succeed in an adult learning environment. The program data manager and the director work closely district representatives to report progress and attendance.

A memorandum of agreement with partnering school districts funds the Gateway to College program. Our current partners include Abington, Braintree, Brockton, Carver, Easton, Hanover, Holbrook, Holliston, Middleborough, Milton, Norton, Norwood, and Whitman-Hanson.
