Psychology Department

The Psychology Department provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Through coursework in general psychology, human development, social psychology, abnormal psychology, and related behavioral sciences, students develop a deeper understanding of individuals, groups, and society. The department emphasizes critical thinking, research-based inquiry, cultural awareness, and practical application of psychological principles to everyday life, education, human services, and career fields. Psychology courses support transfer pathways to four-year colleges and universities, while also preparing students for careers in behavioral health, social services, education, and other people-centered professions.
