This two-year program prepares graduates for a variety of rewarding careers in the field of nursing. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded an Associate in Science degree and are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination for licensure as a registered nurse.
Graduates who wish to continue their education and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) may transfer to one of several area four-year colleges or universities and can typically complete this degree within an additional two years.
In addition to meeting the College’s general admission requirements, applicants to the nursing program must complete the ATI TEAS Examination. Additional information regarding admission procedures is available on this website, and by attending a Nursing Program Admission Information Session.
The curriculum includes courses in general education, liberal arts, and nursing theory, as well as carefully selected clinical experiences in local hospitals and health agencies. These clinical experiences are designed to help students develop the skills necessary for successful program progression. A minimum grade of 78 (C+) is required in all nursing courses to receive credit and advance to the next level of the program. Nursing theory courses may be scheduled during the day or evening, and students may be assigned to either day, evening, and/or weekend clinical experiences.
Applicants considering a career in nursing should be aware that any prior court convictions are subject to review by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing at the time of application for licensure. In addition, a C.O.R.I. check is required for all students prior to participation in clinical experiences.

NCLEX-RN Application Process
Graduates seeking licensure as a registered nurse must apply for licensure by examination in accordance with the requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (244 CMR 8.00).
An applicant must:
- Be a graduate of a nursing education program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- Submit a completed application for licensure by examination and pay all required fees.
- Truthfully disclose any conviction of a misdemeanor or felony offense, as required by the Board.
Criminal Offender Record Information (C.O.R.I.) Review
In accordance with Massachusetts law and Board regulations, Criminal Offender Record Information (C.O.R.I.) checks are conducted on all applicants for licensure. An unsatisfactory C.O.R.I. status may prohibit participation in required clinical learning experiences. As a result, program requirements may not be completed.
Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony offense will have their criminal history reviewed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing at the time of application for licensure by examination. The Board retains sole authority to determine an applicant’s eligibility for licensure pursuant to 244 CMR 8.00.
