Carol Bulman, CEO and Chair of Jack Conway, honored as 2025 Education and Community Champion

BROCKTON, Mass (May 20, 2025) – Massasoit Community College celebrated its fourth-annual Evening of Champions President’s Reception on Thursday, May 15 at its Brockton campus. The event honored Carol Bulman, CEO and Chairman of Jack Conway, one of New England’s largest independent real estate firms, and a longtime community leader in Greater Boston.

The event, hosted in the College’s Student Center, was attended by over 130 community leaders, partners, sponsors, and alumni. Coastal Heritage Bank, Corient, Jack Conway, and Eastern Bank served as Champion Sponsors. The event raised awareness of the College’s academic programs and wide range of student support services. Bulman was recognized for her significant contributions to the business community, her remarkable volunteerism, and her work as a partner with Massasoit.

“The Evening of Champions offers a glimpse into the work that our team of nearly 1,000 dedicated faculty and staff do each and every day guiding students along their educational journeys,” said Bill Mitchell, Massasoit’s president, at the event. “Our students face food and housing insecurity, and many don’t have the means to get to campus or find childcare, and our team works to provide resources and opportunities to help our students overcome these challenges.”

Over the course of the event’s speaking program, guests heard from John Murphy, a Massasoit alumnus who went on to coach college and professional soccer; alumnae Heléna Beeloo, a recent graduate preparing to begin her Ph.D. in physics at Yale University this coming fall; Luc Louis, a current student who shared his experience surviving the 2010 Haiti earthquake and finding success as a student at Massasoit; and Bulman, who recognized previous honorees and the critical work Massasoit does for its students and community.

“It’s a true honor to be named an Education and Community Champion by Massasoit Community College,” said Bulman after receiving her award. “This institution is more than just a college – it’s a lifeline for so many. It’s where potential is nurtured, where dreams are made possible, and where community becomes family.”

The event was emceed by Simone Santiago, vice president of Massasoit’s Foundation Board of Directors and a Senior Municipal Bond Trader at Fidelity Investments. It included a special video presentation highlighting the impact that Massasoit’s faculty and staff have on students. Previous honorees include: Marvelous Marvin Hagler (posthumous), the Boys & Girls Club of Metro South, the Brockton Area Branch NAACP and its longtime President Phyllis Ellis, Peter Forman of the South Shore Chamber, Chris Cooney of the Metro South Chamber, and Bob Rivers, Chair and CEO of Eastern Bank.
