The Massasoit Community College Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization established in 1970 to foster and promote the growth, progress, and general welfare of the college and its students. Its objective is to raise funds and promote scholarships to assist students from all backgrounds in accessing a high-quality, affordable education for self-improvement, financial well-being, and intellectual growth.  Private funds raised by the Foundation supplement state appropriations in order to contribute to the excellence of the facilities, equipment, and student experience. As of the start of fiscal year 2020, less than 50% of the college’s operating budget is supported by public funds, placing greater reliance on tuition revenues and private philanthropy to sustain its mission.

Foundation members serve as ambassadors to promote the image of the college and build connections with the communities we serve. Through partnerships with regional businesses and community organizations, the Foundation is able to enhance the educational purposes of the college in promoting the development of a productive workforce, thereby contributing to the economic vibrancy of our region.  Through its fundraising and outreach, the Foundation seeks to build a network of community support and increased public understanding of the college as a regional resource and vital economic contributor.

The Foundation’s independent Board is comprised of prominent professionals throughout the South Shore who exercise fiduciary oversight of the Foundation’s assets for the betterment of the college. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
