CommEd-Language Instructors

About Our Instructors

Juanita Brunelle earned her B.A. in Romance Languages from Clark University, an M.A. in French from the University of Rhode Island, and an M.A. in ESL from the University of Massachusetts. She studied at the Universidad Jaime Balmes in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she lived with a Mexican family. She has traveled and studied in eight different countries outside the United States, including Spain and Puerto Rico. As a full-time faculty member at Massasoit, she taught Spanish, French, and ESL. She served as Chair of the Modern Language Department for a number of years. She now continues in her work as an adjunct faculty member. Ms. Brunelle remains active in professional organizations dedicated to language learning and teaching.

Alison Farah holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and an M.A. in TESOL. She is a licensed French/Latin teacher and holds a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Alison teaches French and Latin at Silver Lake Middle School. She is also an ESOL Instructor at Massasoit Community College. Alison has worked as an adult language tutor for Arabic/English online and at diverse local centers. Alison has also taught elementary school and theater production overseas.

Ruth Wilcox holds a B.S. in American Sign Language from Northeastern University, and currently works at Roxbury Community College in Boston and Massasoit Community College. She has worked in the educational system for more than 25 years, first as a sign language interpreter, and for the past 16 years, as a sign language instructor. She has taught at several community colleges in Chicago, Illinois and surrounding areas, and at various state agencies. She also works as a freelance interpreter, and serves as Director of the Deaf Ministry at her church.
