Dec. 17, 2020 – Massasoit Community College’s Board of Trustees has named Brenda Molife, Ph.D., Vice President of Outreach and Engagement at Bridgewater State University, Interim President. Dr. Molife’s appointment was made at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 and is now before the Massachusetts Commissioner of Higher Education, Carlos Santiago, for approval.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Molife to Massasoit,” said Judge Robert Harnais, chair of the Massasoit Community College Board of Trustees. “The Board is confident in her ability to lead Massasoit while the search continues for the college’s next president.”

With 19 years of experience at Bridgewater State University, the region’s largest comprehensive four-year university, Dr. Molife has served in a variety of roles, including faculty member and department chair; acting dean in both the colleges of humanities and social sciences and business; executive assistant and chief of staff to the President; and Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director for the Bridgewater State University Foundation. In her role as Vice President for Outreach and Engagement, Dr. Molife is a member of the President’s cabinet and leads Bridgewater’s internship and career services offices, the office of Regional Partnerships as well as University & Community Partnerships.

If approved by the Commissioner, Dr. Molife’s appointment will be effective January 11, 2021. She will serve in the role until a permanent replacement is named; a search is currently underway.

President Gena Glickman assumed office in 2018 and is the college’s sixth and first female president. She announced her retirement in July of 2020.
