Aug. 11, 2016 – Dr. Charles Wall, president of Massasoit Community College, is pleased to announce that Christopher Blunt has been elected as the student representative to the Massasoit Community College Board of Trustees.

A student in the Business Administration Transfer program at Massasoit, Chris is a 2006 graduate of East Bridgewater High School and a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Serving four years on active duty and two in the Marine Reserves, Chris served one tour in Afghanistan and one in Bahrain, earning achievement medals for both tours.

At Massasoit, Chris has served as the Vice President of both the Veteran & Servicemember Club and the Honors Association. He is a member of the Alpha Kappa Upsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, and is a recipient of the Green Key Award. Chris is also an engaged member of his community, serving as an active officer in the Brockton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1046 and of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge in Bridgewater, and as a volunteer at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital.

“The Board of Trustees and I look forward to working with Chris over the course of the next year,” said Dr. Wall. “He brings an impressive resume and will add a unique perspective to our Board activities. I join with the Trustees in congratulating Chris on his election and appointment and thanking him for his service to our country.”

As Student Trustee, Chris will represent the students of Massasoit as a full voting member of the Board of Trustees. He was sworn in on August 10, 2016.
