Lizzie Borden of Fall River
The Massasoit Theatre Company Student Ensemble will present Lizzie Borden of Fall River. The Lizzie Borden case is without parallel in the criminal history of America, and it divided public opinion as no murder trial had ever done. Did the strong-willed, intelligent Lizzie dispatch her father and stepmother with an axe one fateful August morning, or was she the innocent victim of circumstance? The setting of the play is the Borden residence in Fall River, Massachusetts. The fascinating cast of characters are each involved, in some way, with the tragedy. All along the way, the audience is gripped by suspense as clues fall in and out of place. Why was the evidence that would help prove Lizzie innocent withheld? Who is lying and who is telling the truth? Why do so many rush to her defense and so many others want her punished? It’s a drama, mystery, suspense-thriller that will keep the audience guessing right up to the final scene. This American mystery favorite will run for one weekend only for three shows October 25-27th at the Buckley Performing Arts Center on the Brockton campus of Massasoit Community College .
Show Dates: Friday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m.

Pippin the Musical
The Massasoit Theatre Company presents Pippin, the winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. This updated-inspired version of Pippin continues to captivate and appeal to the young at heart throughout the world. With an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man’s journey to be extraordinary.
Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day. Pippin will run for two weekends December 7-15th at the Buckley Performing Arts Center on the Brockton campus of Massasoit Community College .
Show Dates: Friday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 7 and 14 at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 8 and 15 at 3:00 p.m.
