April 18, 2017 – Massasoit Community College is pleased to announce that Governor Charlie Baker has appointed Valerie Noris Sullivan to the College’s Board of Trustees. Ms. Sullivan’s appointment fills the vacancy of Trustee Judith Waterston who recently concluded an esteemed six years of service to the Board.

Ms. Sullivan has over twenty years of experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, most recently as the former President/General Manager for inventive Health’s Patient Access Solutions Group, and former Vice President for Independent Specialty Pharmacy. She is currently an adjunct professor for the management departments at both Curry College and Bentley University.

Ms. Sullivan holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a bachelor of arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross. She serves as a Commissioner on the Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission, and serves on the Old Colony Hospice Board of Directors, as well as the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston Board of Directors. Ms. Sullivan was sworn in by Governor Baker on Wednesday, March 29 in front of the Grand Staircase at the Massachusetts State House.

“Valerie brings with her extensive executive-level managerial expertise, a background as a faculty member, and commitment to service and community,” said Dr. Charles Wall, president of Massasoit Community College.

Former Trustee Waterston is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of New England Sinai Hospital. She served nearly six years on the Massasoit Board of Trustees.

“Trustee Waterston’s contributions have been exemplary and have made a positive difference in the lives of our students,” added Dr. Wall. “Her efforts are deeply appreciated by all of us at the College, and she will be truly missed by the College community.”
