Massasoit Earns $124,970 Early College STEM Career Pathway Program Grant

Massasoit Community College and Brockton High School will offer qualified high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to earn free college credits and explore high-demand STEM fields

March 24, 2017 – Massasoit Community College has received a grant of $124,970 from the MA Department of Higher Education to support the Brockton Early-College STEM Pathway Program. The program will provide an opportunity for rising juniors and seniors at Brockton High School to take up to two free college courses in biology and chemistry during the summer and fall of 2017. Students can earn up to eight transferrable college credits, providing them with an accelerated pathway to post-secondary science programs. The funding will cover all student expenses, including tuition and fees, transportation, lunch, college information workshops, and STEM exploration activities.

Some of the STEM majors at Massasoit include Computer Science, Liberal Arts Transfer Science (with concentrations in biology, chemistry, physics, and math), Nurse Education, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, Engineering, Diesel, Electronics, and Veterinary Technology.
