Jan. 25, 2017

Dr. Charles Wall, president of Massasoit Community College since 2002, made the following announcement to the College community on Monday, January 23 via email.

College Community,

It is with multiple emotions that I announce my intention to retire from the presidency of Massasoit effective mid-August of this year, 2017. Counting my service as interim president, I have had the honor of serving as your president since July 2001.

Fulfilling our worthy mission by working creatively together with dedication and determination has always been both exhilarating and humbling. Your dedication, strength, and effort to achieve the best for our students, communities, and our own community will always be cherished by me. Together we have accomplished so much!

With every journey there is a beginning and an arrival at a destination. For me, celebrating our 50th year together—and preparing for our 51st year—present an optimum time for the College to search for new leadership.

As the search process commences under the leadership of the Board of Trustees, in collaboration with the Board of Higher Education and the College community, I commit to you that I will continue to advocate forcefully for Massasoit and be a fully engaged president until the last day I close the door of the president’s office.

We are a strong college and are only getting stronger. Let all of us continue the worthy mission we support!

Charles Wall, Ph.D.
