Aug. 24, 2017 – On Thursday, August 24, Dr. Charles Wall, president of Massasoit Community College, presented a Presidential Medallion to Wayne Perkins in a morning ceremony at the College’s Middleborough Center.

Mr. Perkins was a member of the Massasoit Community College Board of Trustees from 1997-2006, serving as its Chairman from 2000-2001 and 2005-2006. Since leaving the Board of Trustees, Mr. Perkins has served on the Board of the College’s Foundation.

Additionally, Mr. Perkins was significantly involved in the establishment of the Middleborough Center, and has been integral to its success.

“Wayne has been tirelessly committed to Massasoit for more than two decades, and I was very pleased and delighted to have had the opportunity to award him a Presidential Medallion,” said Dr. Wall.

Throughout his career, Mr. Perkins has also served the town of Middleborough as a member of the Board of Selectmen in Middleborough, as the town moderator, a member of the Historical Commission, Council on Aging, and Capital Planning Committee.  He was also director of law enforcement for the Bristol and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, and served as director of the State Rating Bureau for the Division of Insurance.
