Sept. 29, 2020 – Massasoit Community College has launched a new 10-week accelerated session that will run from October 14 through December 24. More than 20 courses will be held remotely with online and video conferencing options, which gives students the opportunity to get through the fall semester on track and on time for degree and certificate completion. Registration opens Wednesday, September 23 at 8:00 am.

“When our fall semester started, many parents did not know what their children’s school schedules would look like, or how their own educational goals would fit with those schedules,” said Massasoit President Dr. Gena Glickman. “We know that some students who were planning to go off to four-year residential schools may have postponed their plans or went to college only to return home again, and that some members of our community may be unemployed because of the pandemic and looking for a way to jumpstart their career.”

“Our accelerated session is for anyone who missed our initial fall enrollment and is looking to get a head start,” Glickman continued. “We’re offering these courses so that as many students as possible can make education a reality during these challenging times.”

A sampling of course offerings include pre-requisites such as Preparation for College Math and College Reading, and MassTransfer courses such as: College Algebra; Psychology; Speech; Theater; Biology; and History.

Registration for Massasoit’s accelerated session opens September 23, and financial aid is available for those who qualify.
