Thomas E. Carroll, Jr. Named to Massasoit Community College Board of Trustees
January 14, 2015 – Brockton MA – Massasoit Community College is pleased to announce that Governor Deval Patrick has appointed Thomas E. Carroll, Jr. to the College’s Board of Trustees. Mr. Carroll’s appointment fills the vacancy of trustee James Barrows who recently concluded an esteemed ten years of service to the board.
Mr. Carroll currently serves as the CEO of South Shore Medical Center, Inc. in Norwell. A Hanover resident, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Babson College and an MBA from Boston University. He was sworn in on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 prior to the monthly Board meeting.
“Tom brings with him extensive executive-level managerial, financial, and strategic planning expertise, a background as a faculty member, experience building collaborative relationships, and an understanding about the role a service organization plays in its community,” said Dr. Charles Wall, president of Massasoit Community College. “We look forward to working with Tom in the coming months to continue to advance the mission of the College.” Mr. Barrows served two five-year terms on the Massasoit Community College Board of Trustees, serving as its chair in 2010-2011. He is an alumnus of the College and a former student athlete. “Jim has been a valued member of the board and the Massasoit community at large. He has remained an active an engaged advocate for our institution and we thank him for his leadership,” said Dr. Wall.
