Virtual Event to Support Massasoit’s Educational Enrichment Fund
Brockton – To recognize students’ achievements, both past and present, Massasoit Community College is hosting a virtual celebration of excellence on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. ‘Pathways to Success’ will feature students’ and alumni’s first-hand stories of academic accomplishments, achieving dream careers, overcoming adversity, and how Massasoit helped them excel. The event is also a fundraiser to support both scholarships and Massasoit’s Educational Enrichment Fund.
“While we would love to honor our students in person, Pathways to Success gives the Massasoit community and our supporters the chance to come together and really take to heart what our students can achieve,” said Paul Grand Pré, executive director of the Massasoit Foundation. “It’s going to be a fun, engaging event celebrating our students.”
There is no cost to attend Pathways to Success, but the first 60 individuals to donate $50 or more to the Educational Enrichment Fund will get a delivery (within 20 miles of Brockton) of a four-pack of custom-label beer from Black Hat Brew Works and a frozen pizza from Cape Cod Cafe to enjoy from home during the event. The evening will also feature a silent auction, offering items such as a half-day sport fishing charter out of Plymouth, a bed & breakfast stay and whitewater rafting adventure in Maine, and a stay at a two-bedroom condo on the beach in St. Simons Island, Ga.
Massasoit’s Educational Enrichment Fund provides extra-curricular enrichment opportunities such as internships, leadership and career development, conferences, study trips, and research symposia.
“We would also like to thank the local businesses and companies that are sponsoring Pathways to Success: Eastern Bank; Eaton Vance; Rockland Trust; National Grid; and Abington Bank. Now more than ever, their support of our students and mission is critical due to the effects of COVID-19.”
Those interested in attending can register online; registrants will then receive a Zoom link to participate. For more information, contact Paul Grand Pré at 508-588-9100 x1002.
