White Ribbon Event Held on Brockton Campus
March 12, 2015 – Massasoit Community College will host a Brockton area White Ribbon Event on Friday, March 27 in the Louison Board Room in the Student Center of the Brockton Campus. The event is co-hosted by State Representative Michael Brady, Executive Director of the Brockton Housing Authority Thomas Thibeault, Massasoit Chief of Police Christopher Cummings, and Family and Community Resources, Inc. The White Ribbon Campaign is an international movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls, and to promote gender equity and healthy relationships.
Family and Community Resources, Inc., the area’s community based domestic violence program, is dedicated to providing support services – including individual and group treatment, case management and community education and training – to individuals in the Brockton area. Pat Kelleher, President and CEO of the organization, said “We are proud to be working with such outstanding role models for men and women, young and old. Teaching respectful behavior and how to have heathy relationships is an exercise all of us need to participate in. Children and adolescents, our ‘silent victims,’ should not live in a house they are afraid to go home to.”
The event will be held on March 27, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in the Louison Board Room on Massasoit’s Brockton Campus.
