About Our Instructors

DR. ROI ARMSTRONG earned a B.A.in English and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire, an M.A.in English from Fitchburg State University, and a Ph.D. In Leadership in Education from UMass Lowell. She is a higher education professional who has been teaching writing and education courses at Massachusetts colleges and universities for over seven years.

DAVID A. BASSETT holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Maine, Orono, an M.A. in History of Science from Harvard University, and an M.S. in Chemistry from Northeastern University. David worked in the chemical and biotech industry for 46 years before coming to Massasoit in 2014 where he has taught Intro to Biology, Nutrition, and General Chemistry I and II.

JEN MARCHETTI earned her certification as Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and her certification as a personal trainer. For over seven years, she has been helping her clients meet their fitness goals by providing guidance in proper exercise and training. Jen enjoys helping others achieve their goals of health and wellness so they can face each new challenging day feeling healthy and strong.

VERONICA (RONNIE) SHAFFER is a retired health care professional, healing arts practitioner, and a Certified Yoga Instructor. She is a member of the Yoga Alliance. Ronnie has taught yoga and meditation to incarcerated women and creative writing to incarcerated men. Her book, “I Hear Your Cry: Women in Prison” is an insightful and compassionate look at the lives of women who have been incarcerated. At Massasoit Community College, Ronnie has taught Reiki, Intuitive classes, and Yoga.
