EKG Technician Certificate – Non-Credit
About Our Program
This comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians and to take the ASPT – Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician exam and other National Certification Exams. This course will include important practice and background information on anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography and stress testing. Additionally, students will practice with EKG equipment and perform hands on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, the normal anatomy of the chest wall for proper lead placement, 12-lead placement and other clinical practices. Additional fee for EKG Technician exam.
Indicates courses that will be transitioned to a remote or online format if necessary, due to public health concerns.

About Our Instructor
SUSAN LAGASSE earned an A.S. from Cape Cod Community College and B.S. in Medical Science from Fisher College. She is a certified phlebotomist and EKG tech with training in pharmacology. She has been working in the medical field since mid-1990, including positions in the ER, private practice with holistic care, and an addiction center and taught future Medical Assistants for over 7 years.
