All of the business activities that directly or indirectly contribute to, or depend upon, travel and tourism make up the hospitality industry. Some common employers include:

  • Hotels & resorts
  • Restaurants & catering services
  • Night clubs & bars
  • Travel websites and agencies
  • Transportation services
  • Tourism attractions
  • Spas & wellness centers
  • Cruise liners & bus tours
  • Event venues and planners (private, business, cultural & sports)

Students in our Hospitality Management Certificate program will study tourism, event planning, marketing, human resources, and hotel operations, as well as other aspects of the field. With the interconnectedness of the hospitality and culinary industries, food and beverage service management and ServSafe certification are included in the curriculum.

Full-time students can complete the program in two semesters, and graduates of the Hospitality Management Certificate can begin their careers in entry-level positions or continue their studies at Massasoit to earn our Associate in Science in Hospitality Management.

There are four other degree options within Business Administration Careers:

Students whose interests change after the first semester can switch options or switch into the Business Administration Transfer program with no risk of having to make up courses. Business Administration Careers foster an attitude of self-improvement, responsibility, and professionalism with life-long learning as a core value.
