Massasoit’s Pastry Certificate prepares students to assist in pastry shops, restaurants, bakeries and related services. Students become proficient in: baking techniques and processes; methods and ingredients used to prepare yeast breads, quick breads, various types of cookies and cakes; meringues, creams and custards; and dessert sauces.

Upon completion of the certificate, students will also be able to demonstrate techniques, terminology, and the creative process in the design of finished display pieces.

The certificate can be completed in two semesters, and courses completed in Pastry also meet requirements for Massasoit’s Associate in Applied Science in Culinary Arts.
