Massasoit’s Associate in Science in Engineering Transfer – Civil is focused on preparing students for transfer to four-year regional and national bachelor’s degree programs in engineering. It provides the skills, knowledge, and credits necessary through its foundation in general education, science, and mathematics. Students will study calculus, physics, general chemistry, computer-aided drafting, dynamics, and differential equations.

Students receive a combination of hands-on, state-of-the-art approaches and competency-based instruction of engineering concepts. The program itself is modeled after the first two years of engineering program curriculum at institutions such as Northeastern University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and the UMass system. Today’s field of engineering requires at least a bachelor’s degree.

Massasoit offers three other engineering degrees:

Admittance into each is by open admission, but students enrolling in Engineering Transfer are required to have taken pre-calculus prior to their first semester.

All students in Engineering Transfer programs will learn how to apply principle of physics and mathematics to real life products and solutions, understand the processes in which today’s products and solutions are developed, and how advancements in materials and applications can lead to improved or new products.
