The Physical Science department at Massasoit offers students a variety of courses to choose from in order to fulfill a general education requirement for graduation at Massasoit or four year institution or to further their interest in a specific area of science. These courses range from physics and chemistry to geology, astronomy, meteorology and physical oceanography. With the exception of astronomy each course has both a lecture and a laboratory component that emphasize both the practical, hands-on involvement with the process of science as well as acquiring an understanding of basic scientific concepts.

The courses are designed to reinforce the Cross Curriculum Competencies: critical thinking, technological skills, oral communication, quantitative skills, reading, and writing.

The department also embraces the position of the Access & Disability Resources Office at the college. Students with disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in the classroom are encouraged to contact Access & Disability Resources at Brockton or Canton, as soon as possible, in order to ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.

NOTE: These programs may qualify for MassTransfer. Please visit the MassTransfer website to confirm if the program you are interested at Massasoit and a participating state university qualifies.
