Self-Identification Statement (SIS)

Massasoit Community College strives to maintain an inclusive environment that ensures equitable treatment for all. We celebrate diversity in all forms including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, veteran status and abilities. We invite you to self-identify your personal demographic information (examples include, but are not limited to, College application, surveys, and student information data) to help the College fulfill its mission and commitment to achieving a diverse and inclusive educational climate.

Self-identity is the awareness of your unique identity and how you define yourself. The information you share is voluntary, and if provided, will be confidential. There are no penalties for choosing not to self-disclose and how you disclose will not affect your standing at the College in any way.

Demographic information that you share will be used to provide data that is crucial in achieving diversity and equity goals such as improving student services, supporting diversity-related programs, events, creating strategies to increase student success, and seeking grant funding opportunities.

We greatly appreciate your assistance and willingness to share this information that celebrates and acknowledges your unique self-identity. Self-identifying will allow the College to accurately reflect the diversity of our campus community and support equity and inclusion for all.
